VENDING MACHINE/REGAINS
Okay, so what's this thing? ↴
When do we get coins? ↴
What's in it for me? ↴
What's this about renewable items? ↴
I got an item that isn't mine - what do I do with it? ↴
Can we stack coins to help our odds? ↴
Do our coins expire? ↴
Can we use our coins to opt out of death rolls? ↴
The vending machine near the foyer is a bit of an old, rickety thing, but it seems to be in working order - and perhaps most importantly, it contains your stuff. ICly, characters will be rewarded for bonding with one another; these rewards come in the form of coins left in their room, somewhere that they'll be easily found. After that, it's just a matter of going over to the machine, sticking coins in and letting prizes fall out. Simple!
When do we get coins? ↴
Coins are awarded for every 20-comment thread (10 comments per person) submitted here. Any threads between two player characters that do not take place during investigations, trials and motive announcements are eligible for a coin. Threads with mod NPCs are eligible for coins as well, but the one caveat to this is that private conversations and texts do not count – the thread must take place in public.
What's in it for me? ↴
Glad you asked! We asked all of you to put five regains down on your app; this is where you have the chance to get them back. Of course, since nothing can ever be easy for anyone, RNG gets to decide how quickly that happens...
Furthermore, there's also a chance that the regain you get back won't necessarily be yours. That's also a distinct possibility that we won't deny. Good thing you're on such good terms with everyone here, right?
The percentages shake down something like this: You have a 10% chance of getting a regain – either yours or someone else's, every time you roll. There's an 80% chance you'll get something random. As for the remaining 10%...well. You'll have to roll and see what that remaining percentage might contain, won't you?

What's this about renewable items? ↴
One out of your five items can be renewable – that is, they have the potential to fall out of the machine more than one time. They can be consumable things like food, candy, liquor or cigarettes; they can also be things like yarn, socks, underwear, stuffed toys, whatever you like!
I got an item that isn't mine - what do I do with it? ↴
Whatever your character would do with it! Give it back, eat it, wear it, set it on fire, whatever you want. You might want to work it out with whomever it belongs to, but...really, it's your choice.
Can we stack coins to help our odds? ↴
Unfortunately, no. I mean, if you have a surplus of them and you want to shove them in the machine all willy-nilly then no one's going to stop you, but it's not going to increase your chances of getting a regain. But maybe you'll be rewarded for jamming in twenty at once, who knows! ...Or maybe you'll just screw up the machine, because it's old. But you'll never know until you try, right?
Do our coins expire? ↴
You can redeem your coins whenever you want; in other words, the threads you submit don't have to all be from the current week!
Can we use our coins to opt out of death rolls? ↴
That, my friends, would be bribery, and it's highly frowned upon by the Coordinators. If you can't be present for a given week that you've been selected to die, you can ask the mods to reschedule, but there are no true opt-outs or safety nets of that sort.
Congratu...lations?
1 - 090. Electroshock Weapon
A gift from the Transmitter. It fires electrodes that will deliver a strong electric current to disrupt muscular control. ...It's a taser, guys, you know what it does.
2 - Amestrian Military Uniform
A replacement uniform in the same bright blue! Only the truly loyal won't complain about the buttskirt.
3 - 059. Tamato Berry
These berries look like ordinary tomatoes, but covered in spines. WARNING: Incredibly spicy, be careful to avoid getting the juices in your eyes.
4 - Red Stones
A pair of small, translucent crystals, crimson in color; one is spherical while the other is faceted. They're pretty, but they don't do anything.
5 - 024. Old Woman's Wig
While worn, this wig appears to be in good condition! Why would you ever wear it though?
6 - 060. Tea of Mourning
A bag of tea roughly the size of a pillow. The tea made with it tastes very bitter, but maybe you’re into that sort of thing?
7 - 005. Shot Glasses
A pair of triangular shot glasses decorated with lichen blossoms from an alien planet, cultivated by artisan gardeners.
8 - 017. Life Preserver
Useful for people learning to swim. You could also throw it at an orca, maybe, but it's not really a weapon...
9 - 068. Roomba
An automatic vacuum cleaner set to activate at 7 AM on the dot each morning. It cleans the entire floor before returning to its charging area.
10 - 048. Gauntlet
A large metal gauntlet to be worn on the right arm. It has a strange circular design inscribed into it. Despite the spikes, it's not useful as a weapon.
